Term 1: Intermediate Level Drawing
By solving a variety of drawing problems students will develop their ability to create engaging compositions, accurate proportions and the illusion of three-dimensional form and texture. Students will be encouraged to explore various drawing styles and techniques using the work of other artists as inspiration. Some drawing experience is required.

Term 2: Intermediate Level Acrylic Painting
Students will create a variety of both abstract and realistic paintings, while exploring how glazes and acrylic medium can be used to add texture and interest to their artwork. This course is designed for those who have some previous experience painting with acrylics.

Term 3: Painting and Creative Expression
Take your paintings beyond technical skill. While creating a series of related acrylic paintings, students will explore the process of effectively communicating thoughts and ideas through their artwork. Although it is recommended that students complete Term 2 before taking this course, students who have previous experience painting with acrylics may register for Term 3.

Adult - Beginner Level 6 Week Intensive

Monday 7:00-8:30pm

Term 1 Intensive: Basics of Drawing

Often the reason for not taking an art class is not knowing how to draw.  But that is exactly the reason to take one!  This course is designed specifically for those who would love to draw, but doubt their own ability.  Anyone can draw, and this course is a great opportunity to develop individual creativity and simply learn to see the world as an artist does!

Term 2 Intensive: Watercolour Painting

The focus of this course is on expressing the creativity within and exploring a new medium.  Students will have the opportunity to work with the techniques of both dry- and wet-paper painting, and produce a number of pieces in class.  This is an introductory course, and is designed for those who have little or no experience with the medium, but would like to try something new, challenging and rewarding.

Term 3 Intensive: Pencil Crayon Portraits

This course will cover how to create a realistic image in full colour.  And what better way to learn than applying the techniques to portraits?  Photos will be used as the basis for each image, and students will learn to recognize and apply the reoccurring laws to drawings from life, other photos, and eventually, their own imagination.

Over the last twenty years of her creative journey, Heidi has brought together carved stone and hand-cast art glass to tell the story of inner journeys. From her whimsical and mysterious abstract creations to her fun and functional lighting line, Heidi’s designs trip and play through your imagination and your space.
